Description
(1.3 DUKE'S NOTES - AFTER SEEING VERY LITTLE PLAY WIPLUMP HAD ITS COLD BREEZE + TSUNAMI UTILITY COMPLETELY VAPORIZED. GET IT, BECAUSE YOU CAN GET WATER VAPOUR WHEN YOU MELT ICE? HA HA, HA HA HA HA. PROBABLY PLAY THIS IF YOU NEED WIND DAMAGE AND CAN DEAL WITH ELECTRICS OKAYISH)
Wiplump had only seen niche usage before getting access to level 100, where Water Cannon was waiting all this time to unlock its potential. Now, with WC available to compliment fantastic hold options and amazing base stats, Wiplump stands tall as a fantastic option for teams needing a water or a wind - just as long as you can stomach its electric weakness.
This TV spread is for a fast attacker, obviously, but some speed can be dropped for bulk. Bait is a great gear for Wiplump, who, even with Patient, doesn't mind extra stamina with the high costs of its moves. Gust can be swapped out if Wiplump isn't paired with many electrics, and Hibernate makes some sense on bulkier sets, or Tsunami on faster ones. There is a Cold Breeze, Tsunami, Water Cannon, Tornado set that works well on freeze teams with Plethoric as the trait of choice, too.
Wiplump really likes Raignet as a partner - Sparks helps, as does Electric Custodian and Gust synergy. Crystals, Tortenite in particular, work well. Virulent Gust Noxolotl likes having Wiplump around, too.
